Born in Strathspey
in the Scottish Highlands and brought up on a farm, I have always
had an affinity with the nature and beauty of this wonderful area
and as the years go by, my appreciation of the landscape
increases along with my desire to capture the mood and emotion of
it all.
I developed a real passion (or addiction)
for landscape and nature photography some years ago and now strive to recreate clear, crisp images
of nature's 'fruits' from brief snapshots of time. Passion is sometimes
an overused word - compare
coming home from a mist-laden
valley after a successful early morning shoot with landing a Salmon 'King of fish', or leaving a football
ground after your team has won 6-5 after penalties - perhaps now you can
understand a bit of what my passion for photography is all about.
I visit many of Scotland’s stunning
mountain ranges with some local lads who are as hooked on mountains
as I am on filling up CF cards. As a person who dislikes both walking
and getting up early, I can only assume it must be my addiction
for photography, which kicks me out of bed to join them.
My work is produced using digital equipment
from the Canon 5D full frame 12.8MP sensor camera, c/w 17-40L, 28-105, 100-400L
Canon lenses to the output of
the HP z3100 photo printer which delivers
outstanding long life archival prints. My small framing studio
helps me control the quality of production through to the finished
article.
I hope you enjoy viewing the photo galleries and any feedback is most welcome.
